Daniel Regha Questions Pastor Arome Over Viral Tanzania Beach Encounter
Nigerian social media commentator Daniel Regha has criticised Apostle Arome Osayi’s account of an alleged supernatural encounter with Jesus at a beach in Tanzania, questioning the preacher’s claim about receiving supernatural powers.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Osayi had previously recounted an alleged encounter in which he said Jesus appeared to him and instructed him to send ₦5 million to a pastor in connection with receiving the power to raise the dead and reverse autism.
The account generated reactions online, with Regha among those who publicly questioned the details of the preacher’s story.
Reacting to the claim, Regha argued that the account appeared inconsistent with his interpretation of the Bible. He specifically referenced Acts 8:20, which recounts Simon the sorcerer being rebuked after attempting to obtain spiritual power from the apostles through money.
Regha questioned why Jesus would allegedly instruct Osayi to send money in exchange for supernatural powers.
“Pastor Arome Osayi seems to be making content, because what he said about the Tanzania beach is ridiculous. Jesus asked you to send ₦5m to receive the powers? People who defend him know nothing about the Bible, and it’s sad how gullible Nigerians can be,” he wrote.
Regha also challenged the preacher’s description of the encounter, particularly the part in which Osayi reportedly said he had been thinking about the supernatural powers he wanted before recalling what he had requested.
According to Regha, the circumstances described by Osayi did not align with the biblical account he cited, leading him to question whether the figure encountered at the beach was actually Jesus.
“What he said contradicts what the Bible says in Acts 8 vs 20 when someone wanted to buy powers from the apostles to perform miracles. And if you notice in his story, he was thinking about the powers he wanted to ask the man he met at the beach, because that obviously isn’t Jesus,” Regha added.
Regha’s comments have further fueled online discussions surrounding Osayi’s account, with social media users continuing to debate the preacher’s description of the alleged supernatural encounter.
