Fatal Lagos Crash: SUV Loses Control, Claims One Life In Horrific Accident
Three people who sustained injuries in a fatal road accident in Lagos have been rescued from the wreckage with assistance from Good Samaritans and taken to Duck-Yard Hospital within the Military Zone for urgent medical treatment.
According to Bush Radio Academy, security personnel from Victoria Island also supported the rescue efforts at the scene, while officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) removed the damaged vehicle from the roadway to prevent further accidents and facilitate the restoration of normal traffic flow.
Relevant emergency and security agencies were also contacted to support the rescue operation, investigate the incident and carry out other necessary safety procedures.
Meanwhile, the LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, expressed condolences to the family of the person who lost their life in the accident and urged motorists to exercise greater caution while using the roads.
Bakare-Oki warned motorists against excessive speeding and reckless driving, stressing that such behaviour could result in serious or fatal consequences for drivers, passengers and other road users.
He advised motorists to maintain appropriate speeds, remain attentive and comply with traffic regulations at all times.
The LASTMA boss also encouraged members of the public to promptly report road crashes, vehicle breakdowns, obstructions and other emergencies to the agency through its toll-free emergency number, 3367, to enable a swift response.
