Segun Arinze Breaks Silence On His Fierce Personality: It’s Not Anger
Veteran Nigerian actor Segun Arinze has opened up about how his personality is sometimes misunderstood by members of the public, saying his passion and intensity are often mistaken for anger.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Arinze made the disclosure during an interview while reflecting on his decades-long career in the Nigerian entertainment industry and the challenges that come with maintaining a public image.
The actor explained that he can be passionate, direct and outspoken, particularly when discussing issues he strongly believes in. However, he stressed that his approach should not be interpreted as evidence that he is constantly angry.
Arinze noted that there is a significant difference between his public persona and his private identity. He explained that when he steps away from the public spotlight, he values his privacy and enjoys spending time with his family, reflecting and appreciating simple moments away from the demands of the entertainment industry.
The veteran actor also spoke about the pressure of being a public figure, noting that the entertainment industry can be filled with constant attention, opinions and expectations.
According to Arinze, allowing the public perception of a person to dominate every aspect of their private life can eventually make them lose touch with who they truly are.
He said his public image represents only one aspect of his personality, while his private life allows him to reconnect with himself away from the demands and expectations of the entertainment industry.
Arinze further emphasised that after spending several decades in the public eye, he has learned the importance of maintaining a clear distinction between his professional identity and his personal life.
He described family, quiet moments and personal reflection as important aspects of his life outside the entertainment industry, adding that these experiences help him remain grounded despite the attention that comes with fame.
