Nomy Breaks Silence On BBNaija Disqualification: It Traumatized Me

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Whitney Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, has opened up about her experience on the reality television show, describing her disqualification as a traumatic experience.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Nomy was removed from the competition in September after repeatedly breaching instructions issued by Big Brother during her time in the house.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the reality star acknowledged that she has a rebellious personality and admitted that her approach to rules contributed to her difficulties while on the show.

Nomy explained that she had already received one strike before her removal, noting that housemates are typically expected to accumulate three strikes before being disqualified.

However, she said her case was different because her status as a housemate was revoked, describing the situation as an unusual occurrence in the history of the Nigerian edition of the reality show.

According to Nomy, the experience had a significant emotional impact on her and left her traumatised after her time in the house came to an abrupt end.

The reality star also opened up about her family background, revealing that she lost her mother at a young age and does not have a relationship with her father.

Nomy said she has never felt the need to search for her father, explaining that she would rather honour her late mother than pursue a relationship with someone she believes did not seek her out.

Reflecting on her approach to the competition, she said she did not enter the house primarily to make friends. Instead, she went in with the ambition of winning the competition or remaining in the house until the end.

Nomy added that she viewed the environment as competitive and described herself as a central character in her own story despite being perceived by some viewers as the “villain.”

She maintained that her experience on the show, although difficult, formed an important part of her personal journey and gave her an opportunity to reflect on her personality, ambitions and experiences.
