Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Premier League club until 2030, extending his tenure at the Emirates Stadium.

The 44-year-old Spaniard’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but he has now committed his future to Arsenal after nearly seven years in charge.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Arteta joined Arsenal in December 2019 and has since guided the club to major honours, including the Premier League title and FA Cup.

He also led the Gunners to the Champions League final in May, where Arsenal were defeated by Paris Saint-Germain.

Arteta expressed his delight at extending his stay with the club and highlighted the strong relationship he has developed with Arsenal since taking charge.

“This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue,” Arteta said.

He added that the club had already created memorable moments during his tenure but suggested that greater achievements could still lie ahead.

“We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime, and what is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together,” he said.

Reports indicate that the new agreement could see Arteta earn about £10 million annually, with a further £5 million available in bonuses.

The Spanish manager is also reportedly understood to have considered the earnings of some of Europe’s highest-paid managers, including Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, in assessing his new terms.

Arteta’s contract extension comes as Arsenal continue to build around the manager’s long-term project, with the club seeking to maintain its position among England and Europe’s leading teams.

His continued presence is expected to provide further stability as Arsenal pursue more domestic and continental success in the coming seasons.
