The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed condolences to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) following a fatal aircraft crash in Ondo State that claimed the lives of Air Force personnel and others.

NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), conveyed the agency’s sympathy in a condolence letter addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Marwa described the crash as devastating and said the NDLEA received the news with profound grief. He extended the agency’s condolences to the leadership, officers and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as the families of those who lost their lives.

The NDLEA chairman commended the Nigerian Air Force for its patriotism, gallantry and continued commitment to defending the country and safeguarding national security.

Marwa noted that the loss of personnel who dedicated their lives to national service represented a painful blow not only to their families and colleagues but also to the Air Force and the wider national security community.

“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” Marwa said.

He prayed for God to comfort the bereaved families, strengthen the Nigerian Air Force and grant eternal rest to those who died in the crash.

Marwa also assured the Air Force of the NDLEA’s solidarity and support as the military and affected families navigate the difficult period following the tragedy.

The condolence message, made public by NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, in Abuja, described the deaths as a significant loss to the nation’s security community.

The agency reiterated its sympathy to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of the victims while acknowledging the sacrifices made by military personnel in service to the country.
