Oshiomhole Makes Surprising Revelation About Peter Obi, Recalls Their Political Struggles
Former Edo State Governor and serving senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi is not his enemy, despite their political differences.
Oshiomhole made the clarification during an interview with Symfoni TV, where he reflected on his relationship with Obi and their experiences while serving as state governors under different political parties.
The former Edo governor recalled that he governed the state under the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), while Obi led Anambra State under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He said both men experienced political pressure during their time in office, particularly when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controlled the federal government.
According to Oshiomhole, their shared experiences demonstrated that political disagreements should not automatically translate into personal hostility.
He explained that he invited Obi to Edo State to commission development projects during his administration, alongside other governors from different parts of the country.
Oshiomhole said the invitation was not an indication that the two politicians shared the same political views, but rather a demonstration that differences in political affiliation should not prevent leaders from recognising development efforts.
He maintained that Obi’s presence at the event was not intended to support his political ambitions, stressing that the former Anambra governor was invited to participate in the commissioning of the projects.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Oshiomhole said he was pleased that he extended the invitation, describing the occasion as an example of how political opponents could maintain mutual respect despite belonging to different parties.
The senator further emphasised that political leaders should prioritise the welfare of the people over partisan rivalries, arguing that citizens should benefit from development regardless of the political affiliations of those in government.
His remarks underline the possibility of maintaining cordial relationships across party lines, even when politicians disagree on policies, ideology or electoral ambitions.
