My Doctor Said Enough! Toyosi Adesanya Opens Up About Painful Fertility Struggle

Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has opened up about the painful experiences she endured while trying to conceive, revealing that she underwent five surgeries in 2022 during her fertility journey.

The veteran actress recounted the difficult period during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, explaining that the repeated medical procedures took a significant toll on her and eventually prompted her doctor to advise her to stop undergoing further surgeries.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Adesanya described 2022 as an especially challenging year, as she continued seeking medical solutions in the hope of becoming a mother.

She also expressed appreciation for her colleague, Iyabo Ojo, whom she credited with providing emotional support during her fertility struggles and standing by her during difficulties in her previous marriage.

Recalling Ojo’s intervention, Adesanya said the actress had gone as far as travelling to Akure to confront people she believed were contributing to the difficulties she was experiencing in her former marriage.

The actress recounted an incident on February 14, 2014, when Ojo reportedly contacted her former husband and challenged those she said were making Adesanya’s life difficult.

Adesanya explained that Ojo’s loyalty and support had left a lasting impression on her, adding that she felt a strong sense of responsibility towards the actress and her family.

Despite the painful experiences she endured, Adesanya’s journey eventually brought her the joy of motherhood. She welcomed a baby girl with her husband in March 2026, marking a significant milestone after years of challenges.

The actress also pushed back against the use of her personal struggles for sensational online content, insisting that her experiences should not be exploited by bloggers for attention or engagement.

Her account has highlighted the emotional and physical difficulties she faced while trying to conceive, as well as the importance of support from loved ones during challenging periods.
