Okey Bakassi Fumes Over Fake Divorce Story, Says Wife And Children Mean Everything To Him

Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor Okey Bakassi has dismissed reports claiming that his marriage has collapsed, describing the circulating story as fake news intended to disrespect him and his family.

The rumours, which surfaced online over the weekend, alleged that the actor’s wife had relocated to the United States to study nursing while he remained in Nigeria, financially supporting her education for 15 years before she allegedly sought a divorce.

Reacting to the claims in a video shared on his social media platforms, Bakassi denied the allegations and reassured his fans, friends and family that he and his wife remain together.

The actor explained that the false report had triggered numerous calls and messages from concerned relatives, friends and fans across different parts of the world who wanted to confirm the state of his marriage.

Bakassi expressed displeasure over the use of his name and photographs, alongside those of his wife, in the report, which he said had caused unnecessary concern among people close to them.

He stated that he was busy filming a new movie with colleagues when the story began circulating online, accusing those responsible of spreading misleading information about his family.

The comedian reaffirmed his commitment to his wife and children, describing them as the most important people in his life. He also pointed out that the couple had recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Bakassi urged his friends, relatives and fans not to be misled by the claims, insisting that the report did not reflect the reality of his marriage.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the actor’s public response has addressed the viral speculation surrounding his relationship, with Bakassi maintaining that he and his wife are still happily together after 25 years of marriage.
