Published

A video circulating on social media has generated widespread shock and reactions after a handcuffed man, described in accompanying reports as a doctor, allegedly claimed that he collected and sold the water used to give newborn babies their first bath to internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo boys.

In the footage shared on X, the man is seen in handcuffs responding to questions about the alleged practice. During the questioning, he reportedly explains that he collects the water used to bathe babies shortly after birth at a hospital and sells it to individuals he identifies as internet fraudsters.

Speaking in Nigerian Pidgin English, the man allegedly said: “This thing wey I give them na newborn baby water. Any baby wey dey born for this my hospital, the first bath, I dey carry the water go sell give this Yahoo Yahoo guys.”

The statement has attracted attention because of the unusual nature of the allegation and the involvement of newborn babies, who require special care and protection.

However, the identity of the man, the location of the incident, the circumstances surrounding his reported arrest and the authenticity of the claims have not been independently established from the footage.

The recording also does not establish how frequently the alleged transactions occurred or what the supposed buyers intended to do with the water. No independently verified information has been provided to confirm whether the alleged sales took place.

Voices can be heard in the background reacting with surprise after the man reportedly made the statement. Some individuals are heard exclaiming, “Jesus Christ,” apparently expressing disbelief at the claim.

The reactions have added to the attention surrounding the video as it continues to circulate online.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the footage has raised questions among social media users, although the allegations should be treated with caution until the identities of those involved and the circumstances surrounding the incident are independently verified.
