Credential Scandal: ARISE News Bars Political Analyst Anthony Kila From Its Platforms
ARISE News has suspended freelance political analyst Anthony Kila from its platforms following allegations of academic credential falsification raised in an investigative report by Premium Times.
The television network announced the decision on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, stating that questions had been raised about Kila’s claimed academic qualifications, including his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctorate and professorial title.
According to the report, inconsistencies were identified in the credentials attributed to Kila, prompting scrutiny of his academic background and the legitimacy of his claim to the title of professor.
In a statement published on its official X account, ARISE News said it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, and gave him an opportunity to respond to the allegations. The network stated that he requested additional time to address the claims.
However, the station said it had not received a response ten days after contacting him, adding that it had considered the findings of the investigative report in reaching its decision.
Explaining its position, ARISE News said Kila would no longer appear on its television channel or other platforms, with the suspension taking immediate effect.
The network also clarified that it was unaware of the allegations when Kila previously appeared on its programmes as a freelance political analyst.
ARISE News emphasised that credibility and integrity were important to its operations, adding that the unresolved allegations had made it untenable for Kila to continue contributing to its broadcasts.
The station further stated that he would not appear on its platforms in the future.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the decision follows growing scrutiny of Kila’s academic credentials after the investigative report raised questions about his qualifications. The allegations, however, should be distinguished from any formal legal finding, and the information provided does not establish whether Kila has publicly responded to the claims.
