Lagos Voters Get New PVC Collection Guide As INEC Steps Up 2027 Election Preparations
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has introduced a QR code system to help eligible voters locate Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection centres ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission said voters could access and scan the QR codes through its official website and social media platforms to identify designated locations where their PVCs are available for collection.
Speaking at a press conference at INEC’s Lagos headquarters, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Ayobami Salami, urged eligible voters to collect their cards and verify their registration details before election day.
Salami also advised residents to obtain election-related information from official sources to avoid being misled by inaccurate reports. He emphasised the importance of public participation in the electoral process.
INEC disclosed that preparations for the 2027 elections were ongoing in several other areas, including the procurement and testing of voter accreditation devices, improvements to election result transmission systems, logistics planning, and the recruitment and training of election personnel.
According to the commission, the QR code initiative is designed to make voter information more accessible and encourage eligible residents to collect their PVCs well ahead of the elections.
According to Bush Radio Academy, INEC’s latest initiative is part of efforts to improve voter access to essential election information and support preparations for the 2027 general elections.
