Nollywood Star Amanda Oruh Sends Strong Message To Men On S3xual Consent

Nollywood actress Amanda Oruh has called on men to always seek a woman’s consent before engaging in sexual activity, stressing that a person’s sexual history does not remove their right to refuse sex.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Oruh emphasised that consent must be obtained regardless of how many sexual partners a woman may have had in the past.

“I don’t care if she slept with 5,000 men; if she didn’t consent to the 5,001st man, it is a rape,” the actress said.

The King of Boys actress further urged men to make consent a priority in their interactions with women.

“You should always ask a woman for consent – men,” she added.

In a separate reflection on relationships and marriage, Oruh disclosed that she was more focused on self-discovery than searching for a soulmate.

“My death is more guaranteed than my wedding, so instead of looking for my soulmate, I’m going to look for my soul,” she said.

The actress has continued to attract international recognition for her work in the film industry. She recently received the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting Ensemble at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival for her portrayal of Pinky in the feature film Lady.

Born in Lagos to William Iheanyichi Oruh and Joy Uchenna Oruh, Amanda developed an early interest in storytelling and has since built a career spanning acting, film production and hosting.

Her latest comments have highlighted the importance of consent in sexual relationships, while her remarks on marriage reflect her emphasis on personal growth and understanding herself before pursuing a life partner.
