My Marriage Has Ended, But My Life Continues — Chita Agwu Speaks After Divorce

Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced the end of her 11-year marriage, disclosing that a court has legally dissolved the union.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the actress made the announcement in a personal statement shared on her social media page, where she explained that she was ready to begin a new chapter of her life with peace, grace and dignity.

Agwu described the end of her marriage as a deeply personal experience and urged the public to respect the privacy of both herself and her former partner.

She noted that marriage is a personal journey and that not every relationship ends as initially expected. She also maintained that individuals going through divorce should be allowed to move forward without facing judgment, ridicule or public humiliation.

In her statement, the actress said, “After much thought and a journey that has been deeply personal, I wish to officially inform the public that my marriage has been legally dissolved by the court.

“This chapter of my life has come to an end, and I have chosen to embrace this new beginning with peace, grace, and dignity.”

Agwu further explained that she would not disclose private details about the circumstances surrounding the divorce or participate in public discussions about the matter.

“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be sharing private details or engaging in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding my divorce. I kindly ask that my privacy and that of my former partner be respected,” she stated.

The actress expressed gratitude to those who had supported her throughout her journey, adding that she intended to prioritise healing, personal growth and peace as she moved forward.

She also stressed that the end of her marriage would not prevent her from embracing the future with confidence and dignity.

“My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future,” she added.

Agwu’s announcement has drawn attention to her personal life, although she has made it clear that she does not intend to discuss further details of the divorce publicly.
