Sabinus Breaks Silence On Nigeria’s Challenges, Calls For Unity And Accountability
Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Sabinus has expressed concern over the state of affairs in the country, questioning the treatment of citizens who demand good governance and accountability from those in positions of authority.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the comedian shared his concerns in a social media post, arguing that Nigerians who speak up about governance are often told to mind their business, while those who choose to stay away from public affairs are also subjected to criticism and insults.
Sabinus questioned when Nigerians would unite to demand accountability and insist on receiving the rights and benefits they believe are owed to them by the authorities.
In his post, the comedian lamented what he described as a situation in which citizens face criticism regardless of whether they speak out about national issues or remain silent.
“A lot is going on in this country and we’re just keeping quiet. 💔🤐 You demand for good governance, they tell you to mind your business. You try to mind your business, they still insult you. When are we going to come as one and demand for what we’re being owed?” he wrote.
His comments have drawn attention to the broader debate surrounding civic participation, public accountability and the challenges faced by Nigerians who express concerns about governance.
In a related development, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has acknowledged the economic difficulties confronting Nigerians while arguing that every generation has a responsibility to address the challenges it inherits.
He stated that successive generations have faced existing national problems but must make decisions that improve conditions for those who come after them.
Seyi Tinubu also defended the current administration’s approach, arguing that the decisions being taken are intended to address Nigeria’s challenges and create a better future for younger generations.
The remarks come amid continuing public discussions about governance, economic hardship and the responsibilities of both political leaders and citizens in shaping the country’s future.
