Salawa Abeni Breaks Silence On Failed Marriage To Fuji Legend General Kollington Ayinla
Veteran Waka musician Alhaja Salawa Abeni has opened up about her failed marriage to renowned Fuji singer General Kollington Ayinla, explaining that despite her efforts to make the union work, things did not turn out as she had hoped.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Abeni made the disclosure during an interview shared by Daily Independent, where she reflected on the challenges she experienced in her marriage and how she eventually redirected her attention to her music career.
The veteran singer explained that she had tried to fulfil her responsibilities as a wife but eventually accepted that the marriage would not work out. She said she came to understand that some circumstances in life were beyond her control.
Rather than allow the experience to derail her ambitions, Abeni said she chose to concentrate on her music career, which continued to thrive despite the difficulties in her personal life.
“Destiny can never be changed. I tried to be a wife, but unfortunately, it did not work out. So, I decided to focus on my music career,” she said.
Abeni also addressed her relationship with the children she had with Kollington Ayinla, stressing that the end of their marriage did not change his status as their father.
“I have children, and everybody knows that General Kollington Ayinla is their father. The marriage did not work out, but my career did,” she added.
The musician expressed gratitude for the success she achieved professionally, despite the disappointment she experienced in her marriage.
Her remarks highlight how she came to terms with the end of the relationship while continuing to build her career and maintain the distinction between her personal life and professional accomplishments.
