Nigerian Man Shares Testimony After Stage 5 Kidney Failure Diagnosis, Says Doctors Gave Him Months To Live

A Nigerian man has shared an emotional testimony at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), recounting his battle with stage 5 kidney failure and attributing his reported recovery to divine intervention after doctors allegedly gave him only two to three months to live.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the man said his health challenges began in August 2025 when he was treated for malaria and typhoid. However, his condition failed to improve, prompting further medical examinations that reportedly revealed advanced kidney failure.

He explained that his health deteriorated significantly, leaving his body swollen and making it difficult for him to eat and use the toilet. He also disclosed that he underwent six blood transfusions after his blood level reportedly dropped to 18 per cent.

According to his account, doctors advised him to prepare for a possible kidney transplant and commence dialysis three times a week. He described the treatment process as physically exhausting, financially demanding and emotionally challenging.

The man said his journey took another turn in October 2025 when he travelled to Lagos on his birthday. He explained that his then-fiancée introduced him to MFM, where he began attending services, praying and seeking spiritual support from the church’s General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya.

He also recounted attending the church’s Power Must Change Hands programme on July 4, 2025, where he said he followed an instruction to strike the part of his body where he experienced pain 21 times while fasting.

The man claimed that a subsequent MRI scan showed that his previously affected liver and kidneys were clear. However, the medical details and the reported scan findings have not been independently verified.

He further stated that he had been off dialysis for six months and described himself as healthy following the experience. He also revealed that he lost his job during his illness but later received what he described as better employment opportunities.

Expressing gratitude for his survival, the man credited God for his recovery, saying his present condition had given him renewed hope despite the grim prognosis he said he received from doctors.

The testimony has drawn attention to his personal account of faith, illness and recovery. Medical professionals generally emphasise that stage 5 kidney failure is a serious condition requiring specialist care, and patients should not stop dialysis or other prescribed treatment without guidance from their kidney specialist.
