Let Tinubu Complete His Reforms — Ex-Minister Appeals To Nigerians Ahead Of 2027 Elections

Former Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, urging Nigerians to give the administration more time to complete its economic reforms.

Sambo made his position known in Jalingo, Taraba State, expressing confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would perform strongly in the 2027 general elections.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the former minister acknowledged that many Nigerians were struggling with the rising cost of living but maintained that the sacrifices associated with the government’s economic policies could contribute to long-term financial stability.

“We are not oblivious to the feedback from the common man and the general increase in cost of living. However, we believe that the sacrifices being made today are necessary for enduring economic and financial stability,” he said.

Sambo expressed optimism that the economic situation would improve as the administration’s reforms and infrastructure investments begin to produce results.

“Nigerians can rest assured that it will get better. I firmly believe that the reforms, coupled with other interventions, including increased spending on infrastructure projects, will ultimately translate into long-term economic stability and prosperity for the people,” he stated.

The former minister, who previously served as Minister of State for Works and Housing before becoming Minister of Transportation under former President Muhammadu Buhari, also highlighted what he described as a communication gap between the government and the public.

He argued that the administration’s policies and achievements were not being adequately explained to ordinary Nigerians, making it difficult for many citizens to understand their intended benefits.

Sambo therefore urged government officials and APC stakeholders to communicate the objectives and potential gains of the reforms in simple, accessible language, including their expected short-term and long-term effects.

“Undoubtedly, PBAT is working, but we need men and women who will translate the impact of his work into simple terms that the common man on the street can understand. Many people are not adequately explaining the benefits of these reforms, either in the short or over the long term,” he said.

Sambo, who coordinated the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign in Taraba State during the 2023 elections and previously contested for the state’s governorship, called on Nigerians and political leaders to support the President’s development agenda.

“I believe it is high time all of us joined hands with President Tinubu to build our country,” he added.

He also expressed confidence that the APC would attract substantial support across the country in the 2027 elections, as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the polls.
