Controversial relationship therapist and social media influencer, Nkiru Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has publicly apologised to individuals whose pain she may have mocked or dismissed through her past comments and actions.

The self-acclaimed relationship expert made the emotional appeal in a social media post following her recent release on bail from custody. In the lengthy message, she reflected on her past controversies while opening up about the emotional difficulties she is currently experiencing.

Okoro, who is mourning the death of her nine-year-old son, Bryan, described her present state of mind as confusing and overwhelming, saying she feels emotionally numb and surrounded by darkness.

She acknowledged that some of her previous remarks about people’s personal struggles may have been insensitive, admitting that she now understands the importance of showing empathy rather than making careless comments about experiences she had never encountered herself.

In her apology, Blessing CEO said she was deeply sorry to everyone she had hurt through her words and actions, including those who had continued to support her despite her controversies and those who had withdrawn their affection because of her conduct.

She also appealed to the public to pray for her, explaining that she was emotionally exhausted and struggling to cope with the challenges surrounding her life.

The influencer described her return home after her release as an opportunity to retrace her steps, learn from her mistakes and begin again with a different perspective.

She further paid an emotional tribute to her late son, whom she affectionately called “Dum Dum”, saying she missed him deeply and was determined to make changes in her life in a way that would make him proud.

Okoro added that her son’s death had affected the entire family, including his brother, grandmother, father and close friends, whom she said continued to miss him.

According to reports, the nine-year-old died following an asthma attack while his mother was still in detention. The incident reportedly left the influencer devastated.

Despite her release on bail, Blessing CEO is still facing legal proceedings over separate allegations of fraud.
