Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested a suspected terrorist, identified as Auta Maikyala, at a hospital in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following reports that he visited the facility to receive treatment for a gunshot wound.

The arrest was carried out on November 5, 2026, by troops of Sector 1, with support from operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). The Acting Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North West), Captain Tamuno Sinivie, disclosed the development in a statement on Friday, November 6.

According to the military, preliminary investigations indicated that Maikyala sustained the gunshot injury during a confrontation with a rival faction before seeking medical attention at the hospital.

The military further alleged that the suspect had been involved in several attacks on communities, kidnapping operations and cattle rustling. He is currently in military custody and is expected to undergo further investigation and prosecution over his alleged activities.

In a separate operation in Zamfara State, troops conducted clearance operations in Aljummu Hausa, Aljummu Fulani and Tunga Magaji villages in Maradun Local Government Area on November 5. The military said the operation led to the clearance of several suspected terrorist hideouts and was aimed at restricting the activities of criminal groups while improving security in the affected communities.

The Nigerian Air Force also carried out airstrikes on locations suspected to be associated with wanted terrorist leader Dogo Gide in Babban Doka and Kuyumbana Forest, both in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to the military, the air operation followed intelligence reports indicating that suspected terrorists had gathered in the locations to plan and coordinate attacks. The Joint Task Force said troops were maintaining control of the affected areas following the operations.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations against terrorists and other criminal groups across its area of responsibility. It also urged residents to provide security agencies with credible and timely information that could assist in identifying suspected criminals and preventing attacks.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Operation FANSAN YAMMA has pledged to maintain its offensive operations to protect lives and property across the Joint Operations Area.
