In 1999, Egbetokun was appointed as the Chief Security Officer to the Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu. Throughout his career, he has held various notable positions, including Commander of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, Squadron Commander of Mopol 5 in Benin City, Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Fraud Unit in the FCT Command, Chief Superintendent of Police in Administration at the Lagos State Command Headquarters in Ikeja, Area Commander in Osogbo, Osun State Command, and Area Commander in Gusau, Zamfara State Command, among others.
Egbetokun obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, in June 1987. Prior to joining the police force, he briefly served as a Mathematics lecturer at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. He further pursued his academic qualifications, earning an MSC in Engineering Analysis from the University of Lagos in 1996, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Economics from Delta State University, Abraka in 2000, and an MBA from Lagos State University, Ojo in 2004.
In summary, Kayode Egbetokun, who graduated with a Mathematics degree from the University of Lagos, has an extensive background in policing and a wealth of academic achievements, including an MSC in Engineering Analysis and an MBA.
