Lawal Dangulbi, a resident of the affected community, revealed that Nigerian Army troops responded to a distress call, attempting to assist the villagers.

This led to the tragic death of seven soldiers, while approximately 20 residents of the community were killed during the attack.
While the Nigerian Army authorities in Zamfara State are yet to issue a statement regarding the incident, a reliable security source confirmed the loss of the seven soldiers during the attack.
Zamfara is among the states in Northern Nigeria facing severe banditry challenges, with others including Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, and Sokoto.
The bandits not only carry out violent attacks but also conduct mass abductions for ransom in the North-West and Central regions of the country, holding their captives in hidden camps within vast forests.
Despite ongoing efforts by security agencies and state governments, the bandits continue to unleash havoc, resulting in numerous casualties.
