Dr. Edu is also a fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals and the Royal Society of Public Health, United Kingdom.
Dr. Edu has played a significant role in the rise of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the presidency. As the National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress, she was instrumental in mobilizing millions of women across the country to vote for President Bola Tinubu.
Dr. Edu’s impressive track record extends to her time as the Commissioner for Health of Cross River State, where she revolutionized the health care system. Her remarkable leadership resulted in significant improvements in key health indices in Cross River state, including the best child survival rate in Nigeria and significant reductions in maternal mortality and newborn deaths.
The Federal Ministry of Health’s National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme (NTBLCP) also ranked Cross River State as the 2nd best performing state in 2020 under her watch.
