The focus of the visit is to drive economic growth, boost trade, and explore investment opportunities. Cleverly’s trip began in Ghana, where he pledged a £40 million boost for the country’s businesses and launched a £3.9 million UK program to tackle illicit flows of illegal gold.
This visit to Nigeria marks Cleverly’s third visit to Africa since his appointment, having previously visited Kenya, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone.
