Mr. Abdullahi Adamu, the Director of Adamawa Fire Service, revealed that the timely curfew imposed on the state played a crucial role in preventing looting of rescued properties amidst the chaotic situation.
The initial cause of the fire was traced back to a gas cylinder explosion at a local restaurant, which was further fueled by diesel leaking from a nearby generator set.
Thankfully, there were no casualties reported in the incident. The extent of the monetary loss caused by the fire is yet to be determined, as the state fire service will conduct on-the-spot assessments to quantify the damages.
