The announcement was made during a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) at the APC Secretariat in Minna, with the presence of Alhaji Mohammed Nma Kolo, the Chief Political Adviser to the State Governor.
Jikantoro humbly and willingly expressed his wish to step down from his position as the APC chairman in Niger State.
He assured that there were no apparent issues or crises behind his decision, stating his belief that he could contribute value in other roles in the future.
