During a meeting with local government vice chairmen from the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen (ALGOVC), Kano State chapter, at the National Assembly, Senator Barau emphasized that with collective prayers and unity, the party could anticipate a favorable outcome from the tribunal regarding the election results.

The APC is currently contesting the victory of Abba Yusuf from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the Kano State governorship election held on March 18, 2023, at the Election Petition Tribunal.

Senator Barau expressed his perspective on the party’s situation, stating, “We are praying and hopeful that the outcome of the tribunal will be favorable to us.

Everything is in God’s hands. Let us be united and work together. By God’s grace, it’s only a matter of time; we will bounce back in Kano State.”

He acknowledged that the party is now in an opposition role and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration to fulfill the expectations placed upon them.

Senator Barau also praised the local government vice chairmen for their visit and assured them of his continued collaboration to improve the living conditions of grassroots communities.

The chairman of the association, Alhaji Yakubu Musa Naira, earlier stated that their visit to the National Assembly was to congratulate Senator Barau on his election as Deputy President of the Senate.
