APC National Chairman Reveals Plan To Expand Party Membership Amidst Speculations

Senator Abdulahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced that the party’s leadership is formulating a strategy to enhance the party’s membership base.
Ganduje shared this insight after a private meeting with Simon Lalong, the former Governor of Plateau State. Addressing the recent visit of Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, to his residence in Abuja, Ganduje clarified that the purpose of the visit was not related to Wike’s rumored switch to the APC….CONTINUE READING
Although Ganduje acknowledged that a political figure like Wike defecting to the APC could bolster the party’s prospects in the upcoming 2027 elections, he emphasized that the visit did not involve discussions about such a move.
Ganduje remarked, “It will certainly improve the chances of our party, especially in 2027.”
Regarding the Wike visit, Ganduje stated, “You know Wike is an honorable minister-designate, so he came, we discussed because I was looking for him to congratulate him for that, and also he came to congratulate me.
We discussed that when he becomes a full minister, he will work diligently to advance the ministry he’s been assigned to, and he’s ready to cooperate.”
Furthermore, Ganduje revealed that the party is preparing a new blueprint to amplify its followership, encompassing officials from various backgrounds, including those currently aligned with other political parties. Ganduje expressed confidence that some political parties may even consider merging with the APC in the near future.
Echoing Ganduje’s sentiments, Simon Lalong visited the party’s secretariat to congratulate him and offer support for his leadership of the party.
Lalong highlighted Ganduje’s extensive political experience and accomplishments throughout his career, spanning roles in civil service, commissioner positions, deputy governorship, and ultimately, governorship. Lalong emphasized that this wealth of experience positions Ganduje as a formidable leader in party matters.
