This recognition comes hot on the heels of a recent honor from Abuja’s art and theatre community. Awakan’s resolute dedication to championing the rights of left-handers and ambidextrous individuals in Nigeria has earned him this commendation.
The event, a grand affair at Abuja’s international conference centre, marked the 5th anniversary of a group’s formation and the 2023 International Left-handers Day. Politicians, officials, and a diverse crowd, including left-handers and ambidextrous individuals, gathered to celebrate Awakan’s efforts.
Mrs. Adesola Oyinloye-Ndu, the force behind the Lefties and Ambidextrous Care Initiative, emphasized Awakan’s continuous commitment since the initiative’s inception five years ago.
