A group of councilors representing the Ijebu East Local Government Area in Ogun State has imposed a three-month suspension on Wale Adedayo, the incumbent chairman of the LGA. The decision to suspend Adedayo was initiated by a group of councilors which includes Fasheyi Adesuji representing Itele Ward 7, Bolutife Osunfisan representing Imushin Ward 2, Kemi Aliu representing Imobi Ward 10, Adeniyi Adenuga representing Imusin Ward 1, Abass Sidikat representing Owu Ward 5, Biyi Oguntubo representing Imobi Ward 9, and Rotimi Williams representing Ajebandele Ward 11.

These councilors collectively cited concerns over multiple allegations that require thorough investigation. Consequently, they instructed Adedayo to appear before the legislative council at its upcoming session scheduled for Thursday, September 14, 2023.

A resolution, endorsed by the seven councilors, outlined fifteen allegations against the suspended chairman. Fasheyi Adesuji, who leads the legislative house and represents Itele Ward 7, also appended his signature to the document.

This suspension comes as part of a procedural effort to address the concerns raised by the councilors regarding Adedayo’s leadership and actions within the local government.
