The statement, issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, revealed that the command had become aware of the misleading allegations made by Faruk Adejoh-Audu, the Director of Communications for Murtala Yakubu Ajaka’s Gubernatorial Campaign Organization.

These allegations falsely accused the Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, of planning an attack on Ajaka’s supporters in Kogi Local Government Area.

The Police described the accusations as a fabrication by Faruk Adejoh-Audu and his political candidate, Yakubu Ajaka, who, they claimed, were known for political theatrics and disruptive behavior. The command emphasized that these accusations were entirely untrue, malicious, insincere, and deeply mischievous.

The statement further conveyed that the Commissioner of Police, who assumed duty just a month ago, had demonstrated a high level of professionalism by providing an equal playing field for all political parties and candidates in the state.

The Police urged the candidate and his campaign organization to refrain from involving the police and focus on issue-based campaigning and garnering support from the electorate. They regarded the attempt to tarnish the Commissioner of Police’s reputation as an act of desperation, vindictiveness, and self-serving ambition.
