The committee’s mission will encompass a comprehensive evaluation of the current procedures and regulations governing firearms licensing, with the objective of enhancing their efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

Adejobi also mentioned that the Police Force will engage with pertinent stakeholders, including legal experts, civil society organizations, and industry professionals, to ensure a comprehensive and well-informed review.

In addition, as part of his commitment to addressing all forms of insecurity in the country, the IGP has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in the unlawful possession of firearms and light weapons.
