In a move that has garnered widespread approval, President Bola Tinubu has mandated the swift disbursement of insurance entitlements to families of officers and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, unveiled this decision during the Combined Second and Third Quarters COAS Conference held in Abuja. He stressed that the welfare of troops, both active and fallen, and their families was of paramount concern to the administration.

Lagbaja outlined several initiatives underpinning the army’s commitment to improving the lives of its personnel. Notably, he introduced the ‘Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers Scheme.’ This initiative aims to offer quality post-service homes at affordable rates to soldiers. Furthermore, injured soldiers are promised premium medical care, while continued support will be extended to the widows and next-of-kin of fallen heroes.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Lagbaja praised President Tinubu for his swift action regarding the pending insurance payments. He emphasized the army’s unwavering loyalty and reiterated its dedication to upholding the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
