The Speaker affirmed the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to prevent any actions that could undermine the noble intentions of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule, who provided these palliatives to alleviate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal across the country.

He stated, “The 7-member committee comprises Hon. Abel Bala, the Deputy Speaker of the House, as its Chairman; Hon. Musa Ibrahim; Hon. Barr. Esson Mairiga; Hon. Hajara Danyaro; Hon. Luka Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House; Hon. Daniel Ogazi, and Hon. Danladi Jatau as committee members, with Barr. Safiya Balarabe serving as the committee’s Secretary.”

The Speaker set a three-week deadline for the committee to carry out a thorough investigation and deliver its findings to the Assembly for appropriate action.

“I am providing you with a three-week timeframe to conduct your investigations and report back to the Assembly. The committee must extend invitations to all implicated parties during the investigative process,” he emphasized.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to their colleague for raising the matter and commended all Assembly members for their constructive contributions to the issue.

“It is disheartening and deeply disappointing that certain individuals have subverted the noble objectives of President Mr.

President and Governor Sule in alleviating the suffering of the less fortunate. The purpose of these palliatives is to mitigate the impact of subsidy removal, and it is puzzling why some individuals diverted a significant portion of these relief supplies for personal gain and that of their families,” he concluded.
