This assurance was conveyed in a statement released to the press in Abuja by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the statement, the IGP provided this assurance during a crucial meeting with Strategic Police Managers, which included Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, members of the Force Management Team, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, Commissioners of Police, and Tactical Commanders.
The gathering focused on assessing the security situation and discussing vital security matters as the Ember Months approach.
The statement emphasized that the IGP underscored his administration’s unwavering commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring peaceful, free, and fair elections.
He called on all stakeholders to collaborate and support the efforts of the Police in maintaining peace and security in these states before, during, and after the election periods.
Additionally, the IGP commended the dedication and tireless work of police officers, as well as the consistent support from the government and the public. He noted that these contributions collectively led to a significant reduction in crime rates nationwide.
The statement clarified that the IGP, during the ceremony to promote Senior Police Officer DIG Bello Makwashi to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, acknowledged the pivotal role of Police Officers and relevant stakeholders in maintaining law and order.
He expressed deep appreciation for their unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. The IGP also stressed the importance of effective and efficient policing services.
Furthermore, the Police chief called on the public to continue collaborating with the Force by providing timely information and remaining vigilant to foster a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Nigeria during the Ember Months.
