In an official correspondence addressed to the Chief Coroner of the High Court situated in Ikeja, Lagos State, Falana expressed profound disquietude over what he characterized as a profoundly sorrowful passing.
He referenced Section 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s Law of 2007, which explicitly mandates the initiation of an inquest when a coroner encounters a death within their jurisdiction that appears to have occurred under violent, unnatural, or suspicious circumstances.
The letter, bearing the date of September 18, 2023, and signed by Folakemi Falana, as shared via Instagram on behalf of the legal practice, Falana & Associates, ardently underscores the pressing need for an exhaustive investigation into Mohbad’s demise within the confines of Lagos State.
The letter additionally articulates, “We hereby beseech Your Lordship to promptly initiate an inquest into the events surrounding the tragic demise in Lagos State, and we possess full confidence that Your Lordship will respond to our request with the utmost expeditiousness.
