Ade Adetimehin. The move aligns with directives issued by the State Secretariat in Akure following the incident that transpired on Saturday.
The suspended ward executive member’s involvement in a violent and regrettable altercation has brought significant disrepute to the state government and tarnished the party’s reputation.
In light of this, the party’s leadership in Akoko North West has officially notified the State Secretariat of Olumide Awolumate’s indefinite suspension from the party within the Akoko North West chapter.
Upon receiving the suspension letter, Engr. Adetimehin affirmed that the State Secretariat would promptly establish a robust disciplinary committee to ensure that Awolumate faces appropriate consequences for his actions. This is intended to serve as a deterrent to other party leaders and members.
In a related development, Olumide Awolumate, the APC ward chairman of Akoko North West Ward 1, provided an account of the altercation with Mrs. Bunmi Osadahun, the Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.
He asserted that he acted in self-defense, explaining that the commissioner and her son initiated the confrontation by assaulting him at his residence, prompting him to defend himself.
