The tragic incident resulted in the loss of at least eight security personnel, including members of the police, military, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Following his visit to the crime scene, Governor Uzodinma expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate event and assured the state’s citizens that the perpetrators would face the consequences of their actions.

In a statement shared on his official social media account, the governor called for calm within the community and urged residents not to be disheartened by the incident. He emphasized the need for cooperation from the local community in resolving the situation.

Governor Uzodinma affirmed his commitment to maintaining the state’s campaign against criminal activities and related issues.

He assured the people of Imo State that the government would diligently investigate the ambush and bring the responsible individuals to justice.
