Katsina State was established on September 23, 1987, under the leadership of then-President Ibrahim Babangida, alongside several other states.

Governor Radda acknowledged the significant progress that Katsina has made in terms of socio-economic growth over the past three decades, despite encountering various developmental challenges.

He expressed deep gratitude to General Babangida for his visionary role in the creation of Katsina State and recognized the crucial contributions made by prominent public figures from Katsina who passionately advocated for the state’s establishment 36 years ago.

Governor Radda remarked, “We are indebted to General Babangida for his wisdom in bringing our beloved state into existence. This historic milestone deserves celebration. Our great Katsina owes its existence to the tireless efforts of visionaries who fought for its creation.”

“Despite being one of the younger states in the federation, Katsina State stands out due to its abundant natural resources and exceptional human capital,” he added.

“Katsina has produced two Nigerian presidents, including a Vice President, and numerous other distinguished figures who have made significant contributions to the nation’s development.”
