During a broadcast to commemorate the state’s 36th anniversary, Governor Eno expressed his gratitude to former military leader, Gen.

Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), for responding to the desires and aspirations of the state’s founding fathers by creating Akwa Ibom State on September 23, 1987.

He also commended successive administrations, both military and civilian, for their efforts in establishing sustainable peace and promoting socio-economic development.

Governor Eno conveyed the message that the time for politics has passed, and now is the era for governance. He urged aggrieved politicians to follow the example of President Bola Tinubu, who has fostered a liberal and inclusive government, prioritizing effective reformation of the political landscape over partisan politics.

Governor Eno acknowledged that he is on a mission to leave a lasting legacy and emphasized the need for a comprehensive action plan that requires the collective efforts of individuals from all political affiliations to succeed.

He stated, “In the course of my campaign, I pledged to demystify governance and make myself accessible to the common people, as it is from that segment of society that God elevated me, through the support of my political mentor, to become the governor of this blessed state today.”

He concluded by expressing his determination to leverage the state’s advantages in the blue economy and tourism sectors to enhance the quality of life for the people of Akwa Ibom, aligning with his ‘Arise Agenda.’
