Defence Minister Strongly Condemns Federal University Gusau Abduction, Vows To Secure Students’ Release

In a statement released by the Acting Director of Press at the Ministry of Defence, Attari Hope, the minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the parents, the academic community, and the entire populace of Zamfara State in light of this tragic abduction.

The minister emphasized, “I share in your pain and strongly denounce this reprehensible act carried out by suspected bandits.” He called for the nation’s dedicated security forces to redouble their efforts and utilize all available resources to ensure the safe return of the abducted students, stressing that a unified effort is essential to secure their release.

Highlighting the commitment to enhancing national security for peace and prosperity, the minister stated, “As part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s eight-point agenda, I condemn this incident and pledge to secure the release of the abducted students.”

He also reassured the people of the state that both air and ground military units have been extensively deployed within the state, and every measure will be taken to safeguard the lives and property of all Nigerians.
