Previously, Sam Larry faced criticism on social media when a video surfaced showing him and a group of individuals confronting Mohbad.

In the video, Mohbad and Zlatan were present on a music video set when Sam Larry, allegedly an associate of Naira Marley, arrived with a group, seemingly targeting Mohbad, who hastily retreated in fear.

The video triggered a strong backlash on social media, with many Nigerians condemning Sam Larry for bullying and intimidating the late singer.

However, in a statement shared on SnapChat, which subsequently went viral, Sam Larry explained that he had paid Mohbad N2 million to perform at his mother’s annual remembrance concert two years ago. Mohbad, however, failed to fulfill his commitment.

Sam Larry recounted, “Two years ago, I gave Ileri N2 million to perform at my mother’s annual remembrance concert in Ikorodu, but he never showed up.

When I inquired why, he claimed to be unwell. When I asked for a refund, he told me that he had recently lost both his phone and money during an NDLEA raid, and since he was leaving Marlian Records, he was financially strapped and couldn’t repay.”

He continued, “Later, I learned that this same individual was shooting a music video next door, practically on the same street as my house. I approached him to request my money once more, and we had a brief argument that lasted 5 minutes. Even one of his friends acknowledged that he was going to repay the money.

However, to this day, not a single kobo has been returned to me. This incident occurred early last year, and I have since moved on.”

Sam Larry went on to mention that he had traveled to Kenya to search for a new African act to perform at his mother’s concert this year. He clarified that he has been away since August 20 and was unaware of the developments surrounding Mohbad since then.

He added, “I don’t know where he lives, I only know his former label boss and their house. I have no information about his medical situation, and I don’t know anything about his whereabouts or movements. I simply don’t have the time, and I’ve lost a lot more money in the past. You win some, you lose some.”
