who were involved in an attack on unsuspecting motorists and commuters at the Ezzamgbo Junction in the Ohaukwu local government area, setting fire to their vehicles and motorcycles.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, it was reported that armed individuals believed to be affiliated with IPOB/ESN, traveling in a Sienna car, launched an assault on commuter buses, tricycles, and motorcycles at the Ezzangbo junction.
According to Onovwakpoyeya, these assailants set ablaze three commuter buses, four motorcycles, and one tricycle during the incident, fortunately resulting in no loss of life.
Onovwakpoyeya further mentioned that law enforcement personnel have been dispatched to the scene of the attack with the intention of identifying and apprehending the individuals responsible.
“We have confidence that the culprits will be captured before the day concludes,” she affirmed.
An anonymous eyewitness, interviewed disclosed that the suspected gunmen were enforcing an unlawful Monday sit-at-home directive, which led to the disruption of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic along the bustling Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway.
