According to a source, four individuals, including the pastor, were inside the church engaged in prayers before the incident occurred. Three of them managed to escape the wreckage, but the pastor tragically lost his life.

The collapse of the church building also caused damage to nearby residential buildings and electricity infrastructure. The exact cause of the incident remains unclear at this time.

Although the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, Anene Sewuese Catherine, claimed to be unaware of the incident, reports suggest that police operatives from the C Division, North Bank, have already arrived at the scene, and emergency officials are on their way to the collapsed building.
