During his address to the press, Ajayi elucidated that INEC has taken steps to ensure inclusivity in the electoral process by providing braille ballots for voters with visual impairments, magnifying glasses for individuals with albinism, and enlarged posters for voters with hearing impairments.

He emphasized that these measures were taken to incorporate people with disabilities into the electoral system and prevent their disenfranchisement due to their conditions.

Ajayi stated, “We have introduced additional measures to prioritize voting for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and nursing mothers into the voting process.”

He also mentioned the successful post-2023 general election review meetings held at the state level, as well as in Abuja and Lagos. These meetings gathered various suggestions on ways to enhance elections, with the implementation of some recommendations already underway.

Today’s implementation of comprehensive engagement with the media and an increased focus on voter education and awareness campaigns ahead of the upcoming election is among the recommendations being put into action.
