Kanu’s family dismissed the entire allegation as unfounded and devoid of truth. Emma Kanu, the younger brother of the IPOB leader, conveyed in a conversation with Punch that the group’s accusations were born out of desperation.

He cautioned politicians to resolve their issues within the state and refrain from involving IPOB. Kanu emphasized that their primary focus was securing the release of their leader, and nothing else.

In his words, “The actions of this group stem from a state of desperation. If there are leadership issues within the state, they should address them directly and not drag IPOB into their own problems.

“Our sole concern is the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who the federal government continues to detain despite a court order for his release.

“Those who organized the press conference likely have hidden agendas, possibly aiming to discredit Otti. However, if Otti has legitimately won an election, his victory should stand, and there is no need to associate IPOB with this issue.

“Why would IPOB target any judge for simply performing their duties? They should refrain from using IPOB’s name for their political gains. Those alleging that Otti was supporting IPOB to stir up trouble in the state need to provide substantial evidence to support such claims.”
