She emphasized that to access the funds, beneficiaries must be included in the national social register, and payments are set to commence in November.

Dr. Edu informed the NLC leadership that the expansion of the national social register to include vulnerable pensioners in the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) scheme aligns with the government’s renewed hope agenda.

She requested the NLC’s assistance in expediting the data collection process for potential vulnerable pensioner beneficiaries so that they can begin receiving CCT payments.

She stated: “President Bola Tinubu made it clear that vulnerable pensioners should be promptly included in the National Social Register and benefit from the CCT.

As part of the social safety net, this was clearly outlined in his Independence Day speech, where he committed 25,000 Naira for 15 million households for three months.

I urge us to expedite this process so that the anticipated beneficiaries can start receiving their stipends from next month, which is November.”
