The notice of appeal, which has been shared with the press, confirms Olanipekun’s role as Governor Yusuf’s counsel.
The legal team representing the governor also includes Bode Olanipekun (SAN), Ibrahim G. Waru, and Akintola Makinde, with Wole Olanipekun & Co serving as the legal firm responsible for handling the appeal. Chief E.O.B. Offiong (APC) will continue to serve as the counsel for the APC.
It’s worth noting that the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal had recently ruled in favor of Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring him the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election and overturning Governor Yusuf’s victory.
In response, Governor Yusuf has filed a 42-ground appeal before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn the tribunal’s judgment and have the APC’s petition dismissed.
