In a statement released on Thursday, October 5, 2023, through his Special Adviser for Media and Publicity, Hon Eseme Eyiboh,
the Senate President mourned the loss of Adeyemi, recognizing him as one of the most accomplished chroniclers of the National Assembly’s history.
Quoting a letter addressed to the widow, Alhaja Mamunat Adeyemi, the Senate President conveyed his condolences: “Although your husband and I were not particularly close, I have learned that he was a man of peace and gentleness in all his dealings.
His colleagues regarded him as a diligent journalist whose unwavering commitment to his work established him as one of the most respected journalists covering the National Assembly.”
“He can be rightfully described as the veteran of the National Assembly Press Corps, having covered the Fourth National Assembly since its inception.
Although he traversed various sectors of the media, from broadcast to print, in different organizations, it was his exceptional talent in legislative reporting that led several organizations to assign him to the National Assembly.”
“The National Assembly’s institutional memory and his remarkable expertise in legislative reporting will surely be greatly missed. On behalf of my esteemed colleagues, I offer prayers to God to provide comfort to you and your four children.”
