Elder Friday Ugoala, the Chairman of the association, addressed journalists at the FCT High Court in Kubwa, Abuja, representing the allottees.

He stated that given the complexity of the ongoing legal case, the association believed that the current administration would not expend resources and effort defending what they viewed as an injustice against over 5,000 landowners.

Ugoala expressed optimism that the administration would engage with them to resolve the issues by granting them the right to develop their plots, ensuring that their plots remain as originally allocated.

He remarked, “Previous administrations were aware of what transpired initially, and it has been a common occurrence in Nigerian society that when those in power suppress the disadvantaged masses, the masses tend to accept it as a way of life.

However, the 5,000 individuals affected in this case have chosen not to accept this fate. We have publicly stated our willingness to engage in an out-of-court settlement, but there has been no interest shown in this regard.”

According to Ugoala, the emergence of Nyesom Wike is seen as a positive development for oppressed residents of the FCT like them.

This is because the FCT minister is known for being a champion of the masses, and his administration is seen as one that prioritizes the interests of the people.
